But all along he has fallen in love with Sonya and there were moments when the two will sneak away to their secret meeting place and made love.

This child grows up to become a blacksmith for the vampire tribe and works like a slave. This child grows up to become Lucian. To add further twist he is madly in love with Sonja, daughter of Viktor. He knows it is a sin to love Viktor's daughter but he cannot leave the beautiful Sonja. They even meet secretly from time to time.

The story takes a turn when Viktor comes to know about their love affair. Lucian with the help of Lycan slaves stages a rebellion against Viktor so that he can lead a happy life with Sonja. But Viktor has a different future for him in mind. You need to watch the movie to find out what real happens there. I am not going to spoil the party.

The latest Underworld movie is as much enjoyable as the previous two editions. The action is fast and furious and goes well with the storyline. Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy as Lucian and Viktor are brilliant. Rhona Mitra handles her role quite well but falls much short of expectations. After all, it is hard to replace someone of the caliber of Kate Beckinsdale. The film scores heavily with the critic as it has the right casting and a very good director in Patrick.

Rise of the Lycans is not for general viewing. Only those people who have an appetite for horror films will like this one. The film has lots of blood and gore as the weapons used are all of the medieval period. If you detest blood on screen then don't come anywhere near this one.
