Being a Warcraft Gold Generator in 5 Easy Steps

By Paul Rone-Clarke

The best 5 tips for turning your character into a Warcraft Gold Generator. You can use these tips as soon as you get to the auction house at any level.

1- Spend as much time as possible playing the game properly. Powerleveling as fast as you can. This does three things.

As you progress, you will access higher level areas, and this in turn will give you better loot. But the main reason is that, by combining questing with powerleveling, you have a great route to extra gold in the form of rewards, and of course a decent upgrade path with weapon and armour rewards

2- Get a portal to Dalaran. This is a fantastic method of working. Send a lower level character to Dalaran by paying for a portal (or asking a guild mate to send you) Once there, you can buy the high level consumable items that the vendors sell and post them back to put on your factions auction house. This is a great way to become a WotLK gold farming expert at a low level.

3- One of the (few) bonuses with having a crafting profession is that many of them come with ways to alter ingredients and reagents. Be it disenchanting, milling, prospecting or transmute, you may have a method to alter the items you have. See whether the item is worth more or less in it's altered state and change it if required.

4- Use auctioneer or similar and scan for bargains. Auctioneer comes with an ability to scan for items that are well below the average price. This however, depends on you having done your auction scans regularly for a period of time (I think every 48 hours for 14 days is about right - less than 48 hours and you will double count some auctions). Buy, then re-market.

5- Look for auctions that are almost out of time. 30 minutes or less. People put on ridiculously low starting bids then make the cardinal error of not putting on a buyout (don't be one of those people yourself) Use the auction GUI and sort by time left. Then bid one copper above minimum on these items.

I notice many people on forums don't like the minimum bid and 1 copper raises. But why?

Why offer more? What for? If the current bid is 50 gold 49 copper - why bid more than 50 gold 50 copper? What's the rest of your bid for? It's just gold out of your pocket for no reason. The vendor will either be happy with the results, or learn quickly. Don't let them learn at your expense.

Good luck, you'll soon be well on your way to being a World of Warcraft Gold Generator.
