The Power and Mystery Of The Acoustic Guitar

By Jimmy J. Stage

If you have ever noticed someone playing the live guitar, then you know how incredibly powerful and mesmerizing they can be. They seem to be one with their guitar, completely oblivious of everyone else in the room, stadium, or wherever they are as they product a melody and rhythm that transfixed the audience through some deep subconscious communication.

Many people have thought at some point about learning the guitar. Unfortunately, for most it stops there, and that deep desire doesn't get chance to grow and flourish. What of the most common causes for lack of following through on your dreams is the mistaken belief that they are out of your reach. They are not.

Those that make the commitment to make the effort know what a fantastic and immediate return comes with learning just the basics on any instrument. The payback far exceeds the effort put into learning and practicing. When you realize this, you will be on your way.

Far and away the most chosen instrument is the acoustic guitar. If you understand some of the reasons why, then the acoustic guitar becomes the obvious instrument of choice for learning to musically express yourself.

The primary reason that so many people like the acoustic guitar is that it is fairly simple to learn. Just a few chords is all you need to be up and playing with your favorite band or song. Since most popular music only consists of three or four chords, this can be achieved very easy and very quick.

Another reason the guitar is so popular is that it is incredibly portable. It is light, and you can bring it anywhere. Trains, cars, airplanes, ships, any means of travel naturally lends it self to bringing your guitar along. And to play, you don't need any more space than where you are already sitting. Just pull it out, start strumming a few chords, and watch the magic happen. You'll be amazed how easy it is.
